HTML 5 and SEO

As an SEO specialist you should know HTML 5 at least that very part which will influence your work. Of course it is not extremely different from HTML 4 but in any case to be well informed you need to know the main peculiarities of HTML 5.
Changes in HTML that will affect SEO are the following.
1. Segmentation of pages. The page usually consists of several pieces like the title, subheadings, links, and the body of the page. The previous search engines treated those parts of the page as separate segments. HTML 5 solved that problem – now the engines see the page in general.
2. Article tags. The new additions in this area are useful for SEO specialist as they make the HTML code more understandable and pure. For sure the searchers will single out the pages with article tags.
3. Section tags. Within the context of HTML code in the new version each page of the article will be identified separately. Thus if you include keywords to some separate chapter the search engine will notice it quicker as if the words would be written all over the article.
4. Header tags. The header tag in HTML 5 can include the precious information for the SEO specialists. Within this function you can write almost everything – starting from the keywords and ending with the links.
5. Footer tag. It is less useful than the previous tag but still can include the information necessary for the SEO specialist. Every page can have the header and footer tags.
6. Nav tag. Nav means navigation. It helps to find the links to the new pages given in the article.
So the main peculiarities of HTML remained unchanged but were greatly improved. HTML 5 is not completely ready yet but a good specialist of SEO has to know it and use in the everyday job.
